Warped Wood

The original image was from our lines assignment. I took a picture of the back deck at my house. I played with the curve adjustment and darkened the wood. It looked like the wood was saturated and I decided to play with the warp transformation tool. I made another layer copy and adjusted it using the warp tool. I wanted to exaggerate the idea of wood warping after it gets wet.

Sky View

This original image was taken in Europe by my mom. It is the view of a garden and tourists from the opening of a stone doorway. I wanted to create the effect of an opening the door and being in the clouds. I took the clouds from another image of mine. I used multiple layers of clouds and sky and placed them in the doorway. I had to use the clone stamp to add other clouds to balance out the image. I also decided to darken the doorway to give the cement a warmer feel.

Composition

This image is a composition that I used for one of our assignments. The original image does not include the gazebo, sailboat, or snow. I first brought in the gazebo but had trouble with the size and lighting. I also had trouble with the size of the sailboat. I played around with the free transform tool and was able to proportionally size the two objects. Both of these objects were from other pictures of mine. The snow was taken from an image I found online (http://www.imagesofrmnp.com/photo.php?id=1101&gallery=tundra) . I used the clone tool to distribute the snow along the boardwalk. I worked with the lighting by using a filter, curve adjustment, and selective color. I didn’t like how the snow looked under the selective color layer so I moved the snow above the selective color to get the effect I was looking for.

Midterm Proposal

I will be creating a portfolio for my midterm. My main focus was applying what I have learned with color adjustments, adjustment layers, and creating compositions. I will be using an existing composition and creating two new ones.
